I am attending The Grandfather Mountain Games in North Carolina next week, and will be taking part in the clan caucus which is being hosted by COSCA. I will make an effort to keep posted.

what was meant to be a quick recce of the games turned into a social event. Clan MacAlpine poured the biggest dram I have ever been offered....if this is the setting up day...I dread the challenge that lies ahead tomorrow.

Tonight it is raining again.....the Grandfather Mt fields will be like mud baths. They have not had rain like this for a long time. It rained so long and hard that the Games were abandoned. We all got soaked. Now heading home with a kilt that has gained a few pounds!

It was a disappointing end to a modest turn-out at the games. However, I've gained from the weekend on the whole. It was an interesting experience, and I look forward to next year's Grandfather experience.
