GastroFest 2014

A brand new mini-festival of science, food and flavour for Homecoming Scotland 2014.

This new venture for Edinburgh International Science Festival will deliver unique events exploring the science of Scottish food and drink.

Proposed events and ideas include: Molecular Magic, where you can create and enjoy daring dishes that merge traditional Scottish favourites with a modern twist; Future Cocktails which will teach you the scientific secrets and hands-on techniques that will enable you to make cocktails that are out of this world; Nature's larder, bringing you meals with incredible biodiversity; SciMart, our special science 'farmers market'; Microbes on the Menu, an exploration of the microbiology behind some of our tastiest treats; GastroLab, an evening of gastronomical surprises for all the senses; and Recipe for disaster? A conservation debate with your taste buds.
