This has to be a Cabbage Tree!! But they're native to New Zealand, so what's it doing all the way up here??

I'm not sure if its exactly the same type of tree, You get a lot of them on the sea front at Plockton in the highlands. They don't grow that tall maybe 3-4 metres at most. Warm currents from the gulf stream means we get some exotic species on the west coast.

Thetrees in Plockton were planted donkeys years ago, by a Plocktonian he was a parks gardener in Glasgow. i now have a little one in my garden. There is a field near my house that has wild orchids growing.
