Neville "Wayne" McGregor
G'day from the Land of the Long White Cloud, (New Zealand). I'm Wayne McGregor and de facto leader of the Emovel (McGregor of Lincoln) Clan. As far as I've been able to trace we're from Perthshire (Co...

Glad to have you in the circle, Wayne. Your branch of the McGregor Clan certainly populated a beautiful part of the world. Slàinte! Tha mi toilichte!

Owen, Thank you for your words of welcome. Yup . . .From the photos I've seen of Alba, we've got pretty much the same in NZ (with a bloody sight bigger mountains). That beep beep gaelic is incomprehensible to me (Sorry) but I'm currently learning Bahasa Indonesia and Va Mashona (in our flats are Chi...

Hi Neville, I'm originally from Rotorua but I'm living in Edinburgh now. Weirdly, even though I am pretty much the furthest I can be from NZ, I've never felt homesick since being in Scotland!

Wayne, your post regarding your given name peaked my curiosity since it is a name that is pretty rare in the Southeastern U.S. I always thought the name "Neville" was very "British" and was astounded to learn that it is derived from old French and originated in the Normandy region. It is unique in...

Yup Owen. Neu Ville or New Town. (Ah s'pose in the States could be related to Newton or some such.) Used primarily as a first name in England - and after what the English did to MY CLAN, (ie Proscription of the Name for near enough 150 years) I have an historic detestation of all things English, exc...

At least you held on to the original form (spelling) of your family name. My family name was Anglicized under British authority during the transition to the Colonies. "McIntyre" in Scotland...."Wright" on the shores of the Virginia Colony. Ahhhh...History ;-)
