The festival will be looking at what 'home' means to poets in Scotland and beyond, with a theme of Commonwealth of Poetry and be a focus on Poetry in Motion, all to celebrate through poetry the Commonwealth Games and Scotland's cultural connections with the Commonwealth.

Enjoy over 80 events in exciting and atmospheric venues ranging from a medieval undercroft to the friendly buzzing scene in the festival hub. There will be around 100 taking part from world-class poets, other writers and musicians to film-makers, visual artists.

The festival will present a variety of staged and intimate reading and performances, plus panel discussions, talks, exhibitions and installations, a poetry film programme, workshops, a masterclass and diverse events enabling appreciation and appraisal of contemporary and past poetry.
