I'm a children's writer, based in Edinburgh, and most of my books are inspired by Scottish myths, legends and landscape. My Fabled Beast Chronicles adventure novels for 8-12 year olds are set in various parts of Scotland: eg Skye, Orkney, Argyll, Sutherland, the Borders. My new Spellchasers trilogy for the same age group is based in my childhood home of Speyside. My folklore collection Breaking the Spell contains my favourite Scottish trad tales, and I also write picture books based on Scottish folklore, like The Treasure of the Loch Ness Monster and The Secret of the Kelpie.
